PROVINCIAL NOMINEE PROGRAM (PNP)

The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) facilitates the nomination of individuals for permanent residency in specific provinces and territories based on their interest in residing and working there. Each province or territory tailors its PNP to align with its unique economic and labor market needs.

The eligibility criteria and streams for the PNP program vary from one province or territory to another. Some streams are synchronized with the federal Express Entry system, which streamlines the immigration process for skilled workers.

Under the Provincial Nominee Program Category Novus, an agreement between the provinces, territories, and the federal government enables them to nominate immigrants and their families based on the province's immigration requirements and the applicants' intent to settle there. Provincial and territorial governments can attract immigrants to their regions through the PNP.

PNP candidates must possess the necessary age, education, and work experience to contribute to the province's or territory's economy. Additionally, they must meet minimum language proficiency requirements in either French or English.
